Theme Sneak Peek: ColdStone

A new theme is in this works, entitled ColdStone. This design is the first of what I hope to be many collaboration pieces. It is the combined effort of me and Alex Stubbs. It should be ready soon, but in the meantime, here is a teaser:

I haven’t been a fan of your typography choices, though. I would like to see some sans-serif fonts. I know it’s easy to change them, but they wouldn’t fit very well if they weren’t meant to be there in the first place.

Yah, I agree with Joel that the typography choice is also not my liking but I will have to agree that this design is best so far.

Right now there are no plans for video integration, though you can always just embed videos into your posts.

I hope that this theme will suit my taste this time. You are creating awesome themes everytime, but they just don’t really “suit” me that’s why I’m not yet using any of your themes, despite the fact I’m having theme memebership :p

It should be ready within a week. Right now I am a bit sidetracked getting themes ready for 2.7. It shouldn’t be long though!

Yes, I am currently working on that. You can see that this blog is already compatible with threaded comments. You can expect similar functionality in all my themes soon.

Very nice layout, but I don’t like the mix between the modern colors (black/red) and the earthtones. I’d like one or the other (modern, personally,) but not the two combined.

Looks good, what i’m missing in some of youre templates is in the portfolio, a hover preview, and linking to a lightbox or something like vivazoom http://www.mediatricks.biz/zoom/ further on on the frontpage a well designed subscription form for a newsletter and of course a nice rss feed/feedburner button, hope a served you well, and again graphic design is great!!!

…..have to agree with everybody, elegantthemes delivers a great quality with fantastic and unique layouts.
I just recently joined the elegantthemes club, because nothing else out there is competitive from a price- and/or design prospective and you get a (some) designer(s)/coder(s) who seems totally committed to his(their) work !

Love love love want want want now now now! Any ETA on when this one will be out? (I agree with a previous commenter – you do beautiful work, but this one is more “me” than previous themes.)
Right now I am focusing on getting all my themes ready for 2.7. Unfortunately this has put a slight delay on the release of ColdStone. Updating takes a while when you have to do it 18 times
Once all themes have been updated I will resume working on ColdStone. (And I only need a couple days to finish it)

Whats the progress of you updating all the other themes for 2.7? How many themes have you got done etc.. ?
16 out of 18 are already updated with threaded comment capability (just eGallery and Cion are left). I will make a post when I finish the last two

No, it won’t require PHP5. That was due to the lifestream integration in LightSource

It seems ready for me, and I discovered this about a week ago. Simple guess.
What I don’t understand is why it isn’t released yet, and why Nick refuses (or seems to) to give an approximate release date.
He said it would be done about 2 days after all themes were updated for 2.7, but it has been over a week.
I understand that everything takes some time, and for the price, this is unbeatable, but I would like to see some transparency with the customers.
It may have looked ready, but you forget about what goes on behind the scenes. Integrating it with the various WordPress features, creating the theme options page, alternate post layouts, integrating various scripts and plugins to handle things like Thumbnails, and of course, debugging IE6/7 (which you may have forgotten to check) all takes time. The theme probably didn’t validate a week ago either.
I have a rough idea of what the theme might look like on my blog. Check it out. Click on my name. Or go to wristroom(dot)com. Nick your welcome to see it, im sure you’ll think its funny.

That design is probably the best one I have seen that you guys have put out. Congrats on the design. And, for the price of a subscription, it’s a no-brainer!
