Iâm here to give you a sneak peek at a feature coming soon to Divi 5. With Divi 5âs foundation complete, weâre now focused on aggressive feature development, with new features in the works as part of the Divi 5 feature swap.
Every time we finish a feature, we start working on a new one, and every time we start working on a new feature, Iâm going to tell you all about it!
Last week, we released Attribute Management, and the team involved is already working on their next project: a native Loop Builder!
Get all the details in this video. đ
What Is A Loop Builder?
First, you may be wondering what a loop builder is, and to understand that, you must familiarize yourself with the concept of a loop. In WordPress, a loop is a series of posts. The most common loop is your blog feed, where a collection of post content, such as a featured image, title, and excerpt, is repeated for a given query, such as posts in a particular category or posts written by a specific author.
The loop template, which is responsible for constructing and styling the content in each piece of the loop, is typically hard-coded by your theme or plugin. It creates the template for whatever post type you are looping, such as your blog feed, product category, calendar events, etc.
A loop builder lets you create loops, constructing the template, styling its elements, and controlling which posts appear.
You can make all kinds of post-based content, without being restricted to theme templates, or even the limitations of post-based modules like the blog or product modules. Instead, you can use Diviâs full suite of modules and container elements to build and style your looped content.
Loop Anything In Divi 5
In Divi 5, everything will be loopable!
Toggle on the loop option for any element, such as a row or column, and choose which types of posts will fill the loop. You can control what content appears in your loop by adjusting various query options.
For example, you could loop a slide inside the slider module to create a post slider. You could construct your loop template out of multiple Divi modules inside a column, and then loop the column to create a custom blog feed or product list. The possibilities are endless!
Once you create a loop, you can plug dynamic content from the loop into your template. You have unlimited freedom, making Diviâs loop builder particularly useful.
We already have the basics finished and only need to fill in all the advanced query options. The screenshots I shared during this post are just a starting point, so feel free to let us know in the comments which query options you want most, and weâll be sure to add them!
Have You Tried Attribute Management?
In case you missed it, check out my video from last week announcing the release of Attribute Management.
Itâs the most comprehensive attribute system for any builder, allowing you to copy, paste, and reset style, content, and preset attributes across all elements via the right-click menu.
Get all the details in this video. đ
Many More Features Coming Soon
Before you go, I have a favor to ask. We are on a mission to leapfrog the competition in 2025 with dozens of new features, and we want you to know about all of them.
Thatâs why you must subscribe to our YouTube channel, as itâs the primary way we spread the word (in addition to the Divi newsletter). Over 50% of our viewers keep returning to read and watch these updates, but arenât subscribers. If thatâs you, consider clicking the subscribe button and following along as Divi makes its comeback.
All it takes is one little click. đ
We will fill this year with feature announcements and sneak peeks you donât want to miss. Stay tuned, and Iâll see you for another sneak peek, which I promise is right around the corner.
Custom tables would be the best news I could imagine.
To understand this better “everything will be loopable” that means that even things that are not part of Divi or WordPress core systems like CPT from third party plugins will be loopable too? does Divi have to be compatible with these plugins? or is it not necessary? will they be compatible by default??
Gawd, I’m so excited for this! This has been one of THE BIGGEST missing pieces.
Could you share more about the various plugins and fields types you’ll support? Obviously, things repeaters/groups would be massive.
Keep up the good work!
Perfect. Is there a tentative release date for the final version of Divi 5?
Good news. Loops are really something important. But I miss a more flexible menu system, with the option to build megamenus, just like building other elements
Loops is great.
Next I want a better Divi Form.
The most basic requirement – I should be able to add my own email subject.
And, any other feature, is bonus!
The possibility to show a random post, image or anything from a certain category would be nice
This is such a big question. The Query object in WordPress encompasses any and all SQL queries. Why limit it? I think this would be foundational. If you are going to do it – do it right. I should have full access to all query options.
I’d love to be able to style sticky elements separately, and exclude sticky elements.
I’d love to be able to include and exclude posts, categories, tags, custom taxonomy, etc. (this is a huge miss in current modules like filterable portfolio).
I should be able to offset by any given number. I should be able to sort any way that I please. I should be able to query the current tag, category, or archive, etc.
I’m sure I missed some, but this is a huge step forward making Divi be able to handle the edge use cases. Decisions like this make Divi the standard option for UX builders. This is a huge leap frog moment.
đ„WOW! The loop builder is looking awesome! đ€©
I absolutely love how Divi is breaking the loop builder out of traditional âloop layoutâ constraints and making as many things as possible loop-able. This will be powerful. đ
Donât forget to continue improving query options as well.
The ability to add custom queries via registered PHP is also useful for advanced query solutions⊠like relational fields and other complex dynamics.
Keep up the amazing work Elegant Themes!âïž Youâre doing a stunning job!đđ
Canât wait to someday use Divi loops inâŠ
Loopable UI/UX Ideas:

This IS amazing đ€©
I DO wish, however, that we’d get a progress update on WooCommerce modules for Divi 5. Personally, that will soon be a need for me.
Well David they are certainly working on them. I say the first batch of the WooCommerce modules will be out in June.
Will this work with Custom Post Types and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro)? That would be a game changer.
When we build a loop in theme builder, will the loop be able to display all ACF from posts? I’d like it to do that. I recently wanted to do this and used Divi Engine to achieve it. It would be great if Divi allows us to this natively in Divi alone.
+1 for ACF Content and CPT. Divi Machine (from Divi Engine) does a good job, but it is complicated with the need of the library, often slow and furthermore the generated html is kind of redundant. A Divi native Option where we can use alle possible modules (that support dynamic content) in the loop would be great.
Integration with plugins like ACF sound like a fairly basic-but-needed element, as well as the ability to connect to Woocommerce product fields & info. Beyond that, the ability to set up specific filters (excluding or including categories, tags, authors, etc) would make this even more exciting. Definitely enjoying working with the new Divi, and happy to see that there is more to come!
I would love to see lot of options for scrollable items… Like carousel etc..
Loving it!
