Creating A Centralized Repository Of Divi Resources

Today we are excited to announce that we will soon be launching an official Divi Marketplace here on elegantthemes.com. This will be a place where Divi creators from around the world can build and sell Divi Extensions, Child Themes and Layout Packs or give them away for free. Think of it like the WordPress.org repository or the iPhone App Store, except just for Divi. Today we are opening up the marketplace for creators to sign up and submit their products for review.

The Importance Of Community & Building A Platform

We are big believers in the power of community. Divi has become more than just a piece of software. It has evolved into a much bigger ecosystem. There are Divi tutorial websites, Divi podcasts, Divi Facebook groups, Divi courses, Divi meetups, and of course, third party Divi products. This ecosystem is incredibly important as it provides so much value to the community, and it’s our mission to help it grow. Divi’s success as a platform is dependent on the success of these community-driven ventures.

Last year we launched Divi 3.1 and the developer API, and since then we have seen some really great Divi extensions being developed. We have taken every opportunity to promote these efforts on our blog and social media because we want them to be successful. The Divi Marketplace takes those efforts to the next level.

Anyone Can Create Divi Modules For The Community!

We built the Divi developer API to be easy to use and extendable. This API allows developers to create Divi modules that work great in the Visual Builder. If you are interested in building Divi modules to help your fellow Divi users, then be sure to take a look at our Divi developer tutorial series. We also created a Create Divi Extension utility that will help you jumpstart your own custom Divi modules.

Helping Divi Creators And Users Navigate The Ecosystem

For Divi customers, the marketplace will provide you with a centralized hub of the best third party Divi products from around the web. Since Elegant Themes will be reviewing each product and enforcing quality guidelines, as well as providing our 30 day money back guarantee, you will be able to download these products with confidence.

For creators, the Divi Marketplace provides a unique opportunity to place your products in front of the passionate Divi user base and to be rewarded for spending the time to create valuable extensions, child themes and layouts. Elegant Themes will handle all billing support, transaction costs, chargeback fees, product updates, downloads and licensing so that it’s easy for you to get your products out there and into the world for all to enjoy.

In the end, we all benefit from a strong Divi ecosystem. When you download a third party product on the Divi Marketplace, you are supporting that creator and empowering them to spend even more of their time building amazing resources for the community.

  1. Great! Good moment to create things, we have some time now to do it 😉
    Thanks team!

  2. Great Work, I am so excited that the Divi community is growing day by day and now the market place is coming which will be more beneficial for those designers and developers who use Divi daily.

  3. Thank you for the great news! expecting positive feedback from Divi lovers.

  4. This is fantastic Nick. You guys have really done a great job pushing/promoting all the folks that have built great things that integrate with Divi. I’m excited to see an official marketplace run by Elegant Themes!

  5. Hey third party devs – please give Extra some love too! I always thought that theme was getting awfully neglected …

  6. Sir please add other payment systems Because in Pakistan (PayPal doesn’t work) and Bangladesh there are lot of Divi designers (including me) who will definitely want to sell layout packs…..

  7. It is quite unfair leaving some countries out of the marketplace because of paypal. Elegant Themes is powerful and could sort this out. Please consider offering different gateways for payment when launching the marketplace so that every country is able to be part of this amazing ecosystem. Not in the future as Nick said.

  8. It’s a clean, fast and beautiful theme. I use divi theme one of biggest blog. And I loved it.

  9. I have a crazy idea here… Could this be the place where we can get some official ET DIVI Merch…. You know T-shirts, coffee mugs, etc….

  10. So excited for this. Any estimated date of launch?

    • Not yet. It depends on how long it takes for a good batch of products to make it through our review process.

  11. Great feature, expecting positive feedback from Divi lovers. It’s a great move towards unlimited possibilities from the Divi team, congratulations. Keep Growing Nick Roach, the dear friend 😉

  12. Wow, this is exciting.

  13. Wow, this is exciting. Will Elegant Themes charge anything for selling on this great-sounding platform?

    • Yes, Elegant Themes keeps 30% of each sale. We also pay for transaction fees, chargeback fees and handle all billing support.

  14. Great motive by all community Divi

  15. Hello,

Why is country Montenegro not listed when registering the author?

  16. Meant this reply to post as a response to the post. Sorry @richardginn, didn’t mean that as a direct comment to your comment….. I’m in the process of getting my LLC formed, just waiting on my lawyer to file the paperwork with the state. I’ve been using the Divi builder and themes for a few years now (developing websites for a marketing company I consult with). I just recently bought my own lifetime Divi Elegant Themes licence in order to start my own web development buisness. I have been interested in participating in the Divi community for a while and love watching and reading the various Elegant Theme “official” blogger content. Can’t wait to sign up as a contributor. Keep up the great work! Elegant Themes is changing the face of web development and I’m glad to see a platform that continues to embrace it’s ever growing community.

  17. Love that ET always moves forward every day there are interesting articles on the blog and ET updates are comming in waves. The only things i need now is row stacking and most important speed and page size. Nick told yesterday ET worked on that hope it comes very soon.

  18. Great idea. Are the Terms and Conditions available to read? Thanks.

  19. Hmm has a… now you gotta pay for every little tiny feature feel to it. I mean why would Elegant add a new feature to Divi when some guy has already done it and is now charging for it and they are no doubt getting a cut of his profits as well. Will keep an open mind though as I know Nick believes in continual development of his products. I am also for the little guy as I am one myself but we can’t be expected to pay every single little feature.

    • These products already exist, we are just making it easier for creators to make great things and for customers to find them. The marketplace does not detract from Divi development, it only adds to it. Furthermore, we won’t be letting third party products dictate which Divi features we release (and we haven’t thus far).

The relationship between Divi and third party Divi modules is much like the relationship between WordPress and Divi. Is WordPress worse off because Divi exists? I don’t think so. Furthermore, did Divi’s page builder deter WordPress from creating a page builder of their own? Nope, the exact opposite occurred.

      • I have to agree with Nick on the fact they do not let third party products dictate the features they release. I have purchased several third party products over the years, and many of the same features are now included with Divi. However, in some cases, I still prefer the third party product. This is a win, win scenario for everyone involved because we have more options available, even for implementing the same features.

A sincere thank you to everyone at Elegant Themes!

  20. In Bangladesh no paypal payment option supported, I hope you guys add payoneer payment option. Then It will help bangladeshi developer.

    • +1 Also for Pakistanis…. Because in Pakistan and Bangladesh there are lot of Divi designers who will definitely want to sell layout packs…..

  21. Love this and Love Divi – Great move to standardise the plugins and child themes! Congrats

  22. No other payment options for those in countries where PayPal doesn’t work?

    • Not right now, but we hope to integrate other payment options in the future.

  23. Mmm I don’t like where this is going. It means you rely too much on third party developers to add more modules to Divi. I think modules for the most requested features should be added, maintained and supported by ET, because support and maintenance of third party modules is by their developers and some of them just don’t do that job very well.

I have said it before, I think you should start with an open community feedback system like getsatisfaction of uservoice where people can submit their ideas and requests. Let the community vote for them and implement the most requested feature yourself.

    • John… the other side of the coin is that we have all the DIVI related products code snippets, child themes, layouts at one place so it will be good for us. as far as paid thing is concerned their are lots of people who love to contribute “free” divi things, like many of us doing on their sites and blogs.

so i think its good direction to go.

    • Well John-Pierre Cornelissen I say for the best DIVI plugins that do exist are properly maintained by the people that create them.

I do think at some point of time specific DIVI modules will get some specific module updates to add extra functions to them.

    • I strongly disagree (I am bias) but Divi cannot supply for everyones needs. The beauty of our community is that we have developers to help make it even more awesome

    • The marketplace won’t be affecting Divi development. Participation from the community is extremely important if Divi is to succeed, especially as more and more developers rally behind Gutenberg.

The best way to think about third party Divi products is that their relationship to Divi mirrors Divi’s relationship to WordPress. We added incredible value to WordPress and it’s hard to argue that Divi’s existence is bad for the WordPress community. In fact, Divi greatly influenced WordPress’s decision to create a native page builder. It had the opposite effect of what you suggest.

      • Mmm I didn’t receive a notification of your reply. I agree that participation from the community is extremely important and it is equally important for you to give us the feeling you do more with the feature and enhancement requests. The only thing that seems to happen is that they all go in a big black box where nothing comes out of. I know I am exaggerating, you did deliver large new features like the theme builder.

At the same time, there are a lot of third party modules that enhance existing modules with features that have been asked for many times and that should really be taken care of within Divi and not in a third party module.

Why don’t you simply introduce an open community feedback system where people can submit their ideas and requests and where the community can vote for them. I have asked this before, but you never answer. Why not? What’s the reason you want to stick with the black box?

      • @Nick , before the team is working on great new features, can you look at completing the features of the Theme Builder -> Menu module -> Advanced options. There is no hover background color option and there no way to contain the hover background around the menu item (it goes from top to bottom). These are 2 very basic options that really need to be in it as an option. Of course I can change it with css, but it’s a shame having such a good module but not these options. Thanks!

        • Hey Nick, I tried to sign up sign up as a contributor from Spain unsuccessful. For some reasonn, I can not complete the application, any help?
          Wonderful idea Nick!

    • Agree

  24. INCREDIBLE it’s absolutely great it will encourage us to be productive and creative, great initiative

  25. Great idea!! Makes absolutely sense. Happy to be a customer.

  26. Wow, this is exciting. Will Elegant Themes charge anything for selling on this great-sounding platform?

    • They will take a cut from the developers. No cost to the customer

  27. This is great – thank you!

  28. We are excited to be part of this exciting new feature as together we help the Divi community thrive and succeed!

  29. With the reach and strength of Divi/Elegant themes it is about time you develop your own CMS.(not taking anything away from WordPress tho)
Do you have plans for such?
It will be awesome if you launch Divi independent CMS.
I mean you can and should. That’s my request !

  30. awesome, where is the link of the Divi market place?

    • The first line of the post reads: “we will soon be launching an official Divi Marketplace here on elegantthemes.com”

  31. LOVE the IDEA!!!
    Looking so forward to it!

  32. That’s beautiful!

  33. Two big news items in one week. WOW!…

    • I’m in the process of getting my LLC formed, just waiting on my lawyer to file the paperwork with the state. 34. This is THE PLACE! Congrats ET!

  35. How interesting, a doubt, when uploading them to the marketplace of divi, can also be marketed elsewhere?

    • Definitely. We won’t have any exclusivity requirements.

      • Hey Nick,
wonderful idea! But I tried to sign up as a contributor from Spain unsuccessful. For some reason, I can not complete the online application, any help?
