Today’s Divi 5 update is all about caching.
Caching problems are annoying and challenging to solve when Divi isn’t handling caching. Sometimes, you just have to clear the cache.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t try to make your life easier, and today’s update does just that. To put it simply, when your cache plugin gets out of sync with Divi, you’re no longer going to see completely broken styles.
Furthermore, we added a handful of new integrations for popular caching plugins to automatically clear the cache for you when we know it’s necessary, such as when editing Theme Builder templates that target a diverse range of pages that your caching plugin simply doesn’t account for.
What’s The Deal With Caching Problems?
The crux of the issue is simple. When a caching plugin caches a page, it serves up static HTML to your visitors. That static HTML includes links to CSS files generated by Divi, which include all of the styles you customized in the builder. If Divi clears its CSS files but you don’t clear your plugin’s HTML cache, the HTML still links to a file that no longer exists.
So how do we prevent this? Simple!
Now, Divi keeps those stale CSS files intact, so that the stale HTML can still reference them, and they stick around until your plugin clears its cache and a new legitimate visitor hits the latest version of your page.
If you want to delete those stale CSS files for whatever reason, you can do so from the Theme Options.
Divi Saves You Time By Clearing Your Plugin Cache For You
Divi will also clear your plugin cache for you in certain situations.
For example, if you are editing a header layout on a theme builder template that affects various random pages on your website, your plugin cache isn’t going to know what to clear on its own. Furthermore, caching plugins probably don’t know how to clear their cache when you edit a preset or a variable.
So, Divi takes the reins and clears the cache. That’s not new; Divi has always done that, but this update adds many new caching plugin integrations covering the latest wave of popular plugins. Those include:
- Comet Cache
- WP Rocket
- W3 Total Cache
- WP Super Cache
- WP Fastest Cache
- Hummingbird
- WordPress Cache Enabler
- LiteSpeed Cache
- Hyper Cache
- Pantheon Advanced Page Cache
- Siteground Optimizer
- WP Engine
- Bluehost Endurance Page Cache
- Pressable Batcache
- Cloudways Breeze
- Kinsta Cache
- GoDaddy WPaaS Cache
- Autoptimize
- WP Optimize
- FlyingPress
- Nitropack
- Super Page Cache for Cloudflare
- SpeedyCache by Softaculous
- WP Compress
- Swift Performance
- EWWW Image Optimizer’s SWIS Performance
- Cloudflare WordPress Plugin
It’s important to note that you don’t have to use one of these caching plugins. Divi will work with any caching plugin. You just need to remember to clear the cache whenever you make a global change in Divi, such as when editing a preset or a design variable.

Can rabbit loader be added to this list?
I am very excited to see the improvements in Divi5, and I can’t wait to see the final version. What I would like to see is something that I think is necessary, at least for me. I am referring to Presets. It’s incredible how they have helped me to be more versatile and faster when designing with Divi5. But yes, it needs improvement, and I don’t think that would be difficult. It would be nice if the presets list had the option to select several at once so you could delete them, or even export the selected ones. Right now, to delete them, you have to be patient and do it one by one. There are also times when the order of the different presets in the list is not reflected in the builder panel. This is inconvenient. Well, I hope I’m not being too annoying, but these are things that are important to me. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone on the Divi5 team. You are doing an incredible job. Thank you!
Can you please add siteground optimizer as well?
Already included.
We are actually having some issues with caching as of late. Without touching the site, the layout will randomly break once or twice a day and the only solution is to go and clear the Divi cache. Any idea why that would be happening?
We’re sorry to hear about those layout breaks! While the new Divi 5 cache improvements optimize performance, your current issue is likely a conflict between the built-in Divi cache and a third-party plugin or server-side cache. Please reach out to our support team via the chat in your account so we can investigate your specific setup and get this fixed. Thanks! 😊
Constant issue at the moment with Divi 5, should not have to continually manually clear css cache every time there is an update, or you log out of admin area, rarely an issue with Divi 4. At this stage its safer to have all Divi 5 performance options switched off, of course once Divi updates, it will switch them on all again!!!!
We appreciate your feedback and we understand how frustrating it is to manually clear the Static CSS File Generation after updates. While our latest cache improvements aim to streamline performance and ensure styles render correctly, your issue seems to be of a different nature. it sounds like you are encountering a specific conflict that we’d be glad to help troubleshoot. We recommend reaching out to our support team so we can take a closer look at your configuration and ensure these performance options works correctly. Thanks! 😊
