  1. Looks amazing. Can’t wait to use it for my next project!

    • More fine work, this theme looks fantastic!

      • Thanks Bronson!

    • Thanks AJ :)

  2. Elegant Nick ! At the bottom, a nice “back to top” would be welcome…

    • Thanks for the suggestion Didier. We will consider adding this feature in a future version.

  3. Looks great! I’m going to try it out on a personal blog.

    • That Hagen. Personally blogging is just what this theme was made for!

  4. Hi Nick and the ET Team!

This Fable theme takes my breath away each and every time I look at it.
There is something magnificent about it. This is by far the best theme out of 84. I cannot help but admire it in awe and reverence.
Thank you Nick and the Team for such a simple yet unique theme!
I was looking for such a long time for an appropriate blog theme and now I am gifted with one. I cannot thank you enough!

    Kind regards,
    Timur

    • Thanks Timur! I couldn’t be more pleased with how the theme turned out. In fact, I have mentioned to my team that I think it’s the best theme I have ever designed :)

    • I love this theme! It definitely is one of the most beautiful you’ve done.

  5. Downloaded and installed the moment I saw you had released it. I am utterly blown away. Good job Nick & Co!

    • Thanks Josh, such positive feedback is always great to hear after many late nights in development mode :)

  6. Finally.

Before this the release of this theme was delayed since Post Format UI was expected to ship with WP 3.6. However, since it’s not going to happen, it’s good to release it now since I’m pretty sure lot’s of people like it after seeing the early sneak peek.

    Nice design!

    • The timing was unfortunately, but I am glad that we can finally release the theme to our members. Even without the post format UI, the theme is a breeze to use.

  7. Supper lust fantastic awesome vibrant cool .. lovin it

    • Thanks Mark! We appreciate the kind words.

  8. Great theme Nick, I love it. I think my favorite is the part where you hover over the gravatar / face and the social media icons show up. Another great theme in the books!

    • Thanks Justin! We put extra effort into adding subtle and tasteful CSS animations in this theme, and we will continue to do so in our future themes. Vertex will also feature some great effects :)

  9. Awesome design, lazy loading is simply superb :)

  10. can’t say about this theme…..

    Just simply and superb…..

    • Thanks Dhaval!

  11. The theme looks fabulous, guys! May I ask two question?

    1) I see three social media icons at the top right of the header. Are these fixed or is it possible to influence the number and icons? What if I’d want to link to SoundCloud or Bandcamp for instance from the header? Is that configurable in the theme?

    2) Is it possible to turn off the social media icon popups or hide them completely on the post pages? While they look neat, they are not interesting for the site I am planning to build.

    Hope to hear from you!

    Theo

    • The theme does not come with these features, however, adding additional icons to the header and remove the icon popups from the posts would be a fairly simple customization.

  12. Superb theme ! Is it possible to use pages instead of posts ? The concept would work well for a site structured like a book instead of a journal (it’s called Fable, so it’s story-oriented !). What I’d like is the possibility to have chapters on the home page, and sub-chapters structured like the home page on each chapter page — a hierarchical structure.
I haven’t tried the theme yet, so maybe the answer is obvious once I install it.
    Great work anyway !

    • Thanks Tristan!

    • Thanks Ashmita!

  13. Great work.
Good timing too as I have a site lined up that would suit this perfectly.

Hoping the above get answered too :)

  14. Hi Nick, this looks beautiful. One question though, does it support Unicode language? The other themes make Unicode words look very different to the default fonts.

    Thank you

    • It will depend on the font that you choose to use. You can enable Unicode support in ePanel for the fonts that support it.

  15. Marvelous :-) will download it later back from work.

I guess this is going to give me back the motivation to blog that i lost more than 8 years ago.

To just spread my daily life with a refreshing theme like this one, is indeed what i was waiting for in a small part of my mind.

From just one preview on your blog this theme is making me feel like a “child” who wants to play with this new toy lol :-)

Thanks for bringing us more than themes, but also Joy ;-)

    • Thanks Marco, I am happy to hear that the theme has inspired you to start blogging! I am sure that it will serve you well :)

  16. Man Nick you are surrounded by a bunch of yes men and it is getting pathetic every time you create something new. You want the honest truth so it actually HELPS you with your designs in the future?…. They are all starting to pretty much look the same to me my friend. Most of the themes are so generic that that they need A LOT of tweaking to work for my clients. For example I have a client that currently wants a Daily Deals type site but if I one of last 5 or so themes that you guys have designed I would have to alter them soooooo much that I might as well just start from scratch and do it myself. Sorry Nick you have enough people around here kissing your ass you don’t need me doing it too ;-)

    • Thanks for the suggestion, but I don’t agree that this theme is similar to all of our other themes. In fact, it is quite different from anything we have created in the past. Which of our themes do you feel looks the same as Fable?

      • I think it’s because your recent themes are all based on the “horizontal bar” style of design that they all look similar in a sense. It looks like AAA/BBB/CCC/DDD to the untrained eye. …

However, I would like to bring up some ideas, like when you made “Flexible” you added a feature for project images. Maybe you could improve (or focus) on the style of the posts, or pages. A lot of pages beyond the front page looks very similar to each other. Yeah, I know you offer enough elements to alter anything, but sometimes.. it just seems like that’s where you finish… at the index page.

    • Jealousy… :) some people should really start to do something of their life instead of criticizing the success of others ;-)

      • Love it! At first, I thought it looked too similar, but after seeing it in action, I’m really digging it. Thanks ET team for another great theme! My wife will love this!

I find it funny in the comments when people complain that a custom theming site aren’t creating the templates they want for their “customers.” Simple solution. Either go somewhere else or learn to code yourself.

  17. Beautiful Theme! I have just tested it on my mobile phone. Nice display :)

    • Thanks Alex. We make sure that all of our new themes work great on mobile devices.

  18. Right ON Nick!$
just one thing, Curious ANY chance or way to add some css to ‘fix’ the background images (easy way to have a lil parallax flavor and take ET to the Next Level… just suggest, n prayer ha)
    #ElegantThemesROCKS!
    -Sterling

    • Thanks for the suggestion Sterling. Making the background fixed is an easy change in CSS. I chose not to add parallax effects in this theme as it may have been a bit overwhelming when there are multiple blog posts with BG images in a row. However, we will be using this effect in our next theme Vertex :)

      • I am trying to decide if this is the theme I want to use — I was also wondering if I could fix some of the stuff? Like – a welcome post w/ background pic, a gallery, and maybe a quote/video and then the rest be updated posts? You said in CSS you could change that, is that an easy thing to do? Or should I get this in the mean time and just wait for Vertex?

  19. Hello, This template comes as a surprise to me. I was waiting for Vertex template. When does the vertex template come to life?

    • Vertex should be ready soon. Hopefully within the next 1-2 weeks.

  20. Beautiful!

    • Thanks Román :)

  21. Nick,

This is great ! Finally, Google+ button is there. Please, add this button to the other themes, it is very important to many bloggers who trust in Google Authorship.

    Thanks,

    David.

  22. The theme, I’ve been waiting for is now live, thank you Nick you’re amazing :)

    • Thanks Pranjal! The kind words are much appreciate :)

  23. Astonished! I was expecting vertex…but this fable theme has strong effects…happy blogging for story bloggers!

    • Vertex will be ready soon. Stay tuned :)

  24. Simply a delight. Kudos to you Nick. You keep raising the bar on yourself.

    • Thanks Bob! We try to push ourselves with each new release :)

  25. This theme might just be the reason I get a membership here. It’s simply beautiful and fits my style of my blog perfectly. I love it! Amazing work!

    • Thanks Geoffrey, that’s great to hear! I am sure that the membership will serve you well.

    • Thanks Harlan L:)

  26. The video feature doesn’t work in Firefox. Can you please check?

    • Thanks for letting us know. We will have it fixed asap.

  27. Really liked glassy effect..cant wait to use this amazing theme

  28. Es un theme precioso!! Lo he instalado y va todo de maravilla. Muchas gracias!!

    Automatic translate:
It is a beautiful theme! I have installed it and it going great. Thank you very much!

    • Thanks Álvaro! I’m happy to hear that the theme is working out well for you.

  29. Does this theme have options for a sidebar?

    • The theme does not come with a sidebar. The footer is widgetized, however, and you can included widgets on every page there.

      • Oh that’s great Nick!

  30. Very very nice.

  31. Another greatest responsive template from elegan themes

  32. I like the idea of telling a story with the design!

  33. Interesting theme. Good job, Nick

  34. This template is fantastic – great example of a responsive website – thanks for sharing and great work Nick! :)

  35. Nice theme Nick, but may I suggest to start working on internal sections? All of your themes have great and, sometimes, very original homepage styles, but your internal pages most of the times do not reflect the homepage styles at all. It’s very rare to see the mechanism you’ve implemented on the very first page used for other sections of the site, well actually it’s very rare to see any new idea used for internal sections.
That makes all of your themes look basically the same after you’ve moved away from the first page.
Let’s take this theme for instance, it has a very nice full width pictures in homepage, so why can’t we have a full width images gallery? Or a full width portfolio?
    Thanks
    Massimo

  36. ET has lost its way. These themes are pretty much useless in this day and age. They are def not for the masses. Lost a customer. Cya…

    • Thanks for the comment. I am not sure what you mean when you say that blogging themes are no longer useful in this day in age. Are you saying that not many people are blogging anymore?

    • Thanks Sam :)

  37. How can I make it so the first work of every post is not LARGE BOLD. What is the CSS code of this? I want to remove it completely

    Cheers,

    Teyler

  38. Thanks for sharing! Loved the color and the designs of your themes.
    Excellent Work!

  39. Love this theme.

Is there any way that I can control what posts are put through the home page? I only want to display posts from one category but can’t figure out how to do that.

Thanks again for the great theme Nick

  40. A wonderful theme for personal blogging. What I miss is only a stylish post to post navigation.

  41. this is stunning and exactly what i’ve been searching for! thank you so much!

  42. Awesome theme Nick, I really like it. My favorite part is where you hover over the gravatar / face and the social media icons show up. Yet another great theme in the books! Hope all is well,

    • How do you add the Gravatar?

      • You can sign up for gravatar at gravatar.com. Just make sure you use the same email address when commenting and on your WordPress user account.

        • I’ve done that, I get nothing. RATS

  43. I initially liked the look of this theme but working with it leaves something to be desired. Why is the menu so sucky? The only menu that works right is the default menu (i.e. no menu). The social media icons are so faint to almost be invisible. I am new to wordpress so maybe I am missing something, but I thought the whole point of buying a theme was to get extra functionality. I need to buy a $30 plugin so get decent menu functionality? Why, for example is a category with sub-catagories not represented as a a menu item with sub-menu items? Why can we only exclude menu items and not include menu items?
    Thanks.

    • David, you should be using the Appearances > Menus system to build you menus. Here you can create dropdown menus, and pick and choose which items appear in your menu.

  44. a lot of people are saying that the photos which act as the background for different articles take up too much space. Is it possible to make them smallar (maybe height-wise) ?

    • Use photoshop and make them any size you want.

  45. I ask the same question for our new Nexus theme. How can I make clickable the photos background in home page? Now the visitor must click on title. it will be nice and easier if they can click on photos and go to article.

  46. How do I go about adding a profile picture? Currently there is nothing in the small circle serving as the social media hub. I’d like to add my pic but don’t see an option anywhere. Thanks for your help!

    • My bad… Gravatar wasn’t enabled. All better now. Great theme!

  47. How do I get to the “theme customizer”? I would like to change the “intent” color on the clickable arrow over my posts to not be yellow, but instead green. I only see 5 colors for the header under “customize”.

  48. Great looking theme. I had to modify it a little bit, so it displays pages instead of posts on the homepage (i’m surprised it’s not available in theme options – some other themes like Chameleon have this feature) and also add some more tweaks here and there, but it’s a great base to work on.

  49. Great post. I used to be checking constantly this blog and I’m impressed! Extremely helpful info specially the last phase :) I handle such information a lot. I used to be looking for this particular information for a long time. Thank you and best of luck.
