Everything You Need To Know About ET

Today we have launched a new theme documentation page that will serve as a growing knowledge base for everything Elegant Themes. My main goal is to improve the users experience for new customers by creating a collection of helpful articles, videos, common problems and helpful resources. This documentation page will continue to grow with time, but even in its infancy I think that it will prove quite useful for new users. Let us know what you think. Also, if there is anything you think should be added, please let us know! Click Here To View The Documentation.

Wonderful job to improve the user experience. I have learned more things in less time using videos than any other mode of learning. I’m sure this move will be equally applauded by others too. Keep up the great work!

    Hi Nick,
    That sounds very nice !!!

    - This page is for general tricks, a lot of informations, I learn about etcrop !!!
    - The readme for each theme (may be to purge some redoundant trick with general)
    - The changelog must be completed with the number of the version, file changed…

Like that it will be the top for me.

    Thanks

If possible, include the wp-member plugin (for block and unblock the content) within the theme , soo look blended.

    tks

  11. AJ Clarke says:

That’s awesome. Best support as always :) It’s going to be nice for users before they join to see how the themes work. Keep up the good work guys!

  12. Excelent handbook! I’ve just added a link to it onto my private blog: http://kwis.abcdw.pl (unfortunatelly in polish language). THX

  13. ET Fan says:

    Great Stuff!

However, I think something is missing…

    - Upgrade/Update instructions
    - Change file list for every version

This way we can update/upgrade our modified version of the theme.

    Thanks

  14. J says:

    less instructions…more themes.

  15. sandy says:

I’m sure this will be a big help..and much needed as long as people read it!

All too often we see the same questions/ same mistakes about how to upload the themes – did the same thing myself as a newbie last year. People are so used to uploading a zip file in WP to install a theme…why not have that file zipped ready for install?

I noticed some comments recently regarding getting questions answered Hopefully this will cut out unnecessary questions so mods get chance to answer the others. Well done Nick and team

  16. Guido says:

    Great work Nick!!

The video “Configure the homepage Featured Slider using ePanel” is corrupt.
    The error is:
    “200, Stream not found, Netstream.Play.StreamNotFound, Clip: ‘[Clip]‘/members-area/tutorials/videos/epanel-featured.flv”

  17. Deborah says:

One area I have difficulty understanding is the ET Custom Fields. Having a reference point similar to the shortcodes write-up would be great in my opinion.

  18. QR Code Tool says:

    Hi,
I was wondering how to change the fonts and font colors in the theme. Is this possible?
    Thanks
    James

  19. Dev says:

I always had problems with short codes, this helps, thanks

  20. Keith Davis says:

    So much to know
But great to have it all in one place.

    Thanks for your continued improvements.

  21. Vanderhellen says:

    Great work. Thank you.

Please reorder the navigation to find everything fast – sometimes it’s a bit confused, if you wanna find an answer or help.

My problem is the very short logged-in time – please make automatic login possible. Thank you.

  22. neil keleher says:

Hi Nick, just found out about your product. How easy is it to adjust themes to use as normal pages in a non-blog website? More specifically, non-wordpress? Thanks.

by the way your themes are beautiful.

  23. Adam says:

    Hi,

I tried to make drop down menus on my another website where I use InterPhase theme, but it doesn`t work. Do you know why? I followed your tutorial, but no success.

I miss an explanation about the ET settings in the posts. For example i see no clear difference between a photo post and a blog post?
