Please give a warm welcome to our newest group and host! 🙌🏼 Divi Nairobi!
Divi Nairobi, Kenya
Meet the host, Patrick Lumumba:
I am a dedicated web developer specializing exclusively in building exceptional websites through the use of Divi. My journey with Divi started in 2018 and since then, I have been instrumental in launching numerous successful websites for businesses, both domestically and internationally.
In addition to managing a thriving web service business at Paluhost Web Services, I am passionate about sharing my expertise. Through insightful tutorials, I simplify the intricacies of website development with Divi, offering straightforward solutions for beginners. In my years of using Divi, I have never really found a Divi meetup group in my city. I have tried to join ones in other countries like South Africa, Nigeria, the USA, and so on, and the biggest challenge has always been that they don’t host online meetups. The only one that has been helpful is Divi Salt Lake City.
I know that there are other Divi users out there like me who are also looking for a community of like-minded people to join and so, this meetup group will benefit many people.
My reason for starting and leading this meetup group is basically to provide a platform for Divi users, beginners, and experts alike, to come together and help one another.
So excited to see you grow the Divi community in East Africa!

From the Host, Joan Margau:
Eric Dingler from Intransit Studios gave us the opportunity to ask him anything about running a Divi business as a solopreneur or an agency.
One of the first things to do when running a Divi business is to understand your leadership role in the company. As a solopreneur or agency owner, you are responsible for everything from sales and marketing to customer service and project management.Another important aspect of running a Divi business is to have a solid lead generation and sales process. Nothing happens until you sell something, so it is essential to have a system for generating leads and converting them into paying customers. There are many different lead generation and sales techniques that you can use, so it is important to find what works best for you and your business.
One of the systems that Eric Dingler discussed was HighLevel. HighLevel is a system as a service (SaaS) that offers a variety of marketing tools, including a CRM (customer relationship management) system, email marketing, and SMS marketing. HighLevel also integrates with various third-party apps and AI features, making it a powerful tool for businesses of all sizes.
HighLevel can be used by solopreneurs and agencies to manage their client relationships and marketing campaigns. It can also be used to provide clients with access to a self-service portal, where they can view their project status, make payments, and submit support tickets.

Divi 5 Alpha Demo and Divi AI.
The new Divi Visual Builder that will come with Divi 5.0 is incredible. We explored it in the Demo site provided by Elegant Themes and it is certainly speeded up. The way it is designed gives you more control inside the Visual Builder and complements your workflow. It’s incredibly fast. When you want to work in a module, the module settings open up and dock to the right of the screen in seconds. The sections are arranged in layers and are docked on the left of the screen. In the middle is your workspace, and you see your edits in real time.
With the built-in Divi AI at your fingertips, website creation is going to take on a whole new level and will take less time to build.
We created a landing page for a Puppy Training Business. We revised the content with the different prompts available, and we were delighted at the images generated of adorable puppies. The new Divi Visual Builder and built-in AI are going to revolutionize the way web designers and developers build websites.
You’re missing out if you haven’t visited Joan & the Divi Chicago crew! 💯

From the Hosts, Tommy Lee & Kent Pilkington:
This month, Divi DFW gave a comprehensive overview of the Theme Builder which allows developers to easily stylize WordPress content. We demonstrated how it uses WordPress’s own pagination to style content, and how it allows content managers to easily expand websites without worrying about styling. We also talked about how it integrates with WooCommerce, which inspired a lively discussion on the benefits of Woo & Divi together. All in all, we felt we demonstrated how proper use of the theme builder makes WordPress development easier for all.
Woot, Divi DFW! 🤠

From the Host, Patrick Lumumba:
Divi Nairobi, a group formed about a month ago, has been able to attract over 50 members on meetup.com.
We held our first meetup on May 18th, 2024, at 7:00 PM EAT. The topic for the event was “Getting Started with Divi.” As the host, I introduced myself to the group and then invited the attendees to introduce themselves.
Although the event had 19 RSVPs, only 5 attendees were present when we started. However, more people joined during the meeting, bringing the total number of attendees to 8.
After the introductions, I provided an overview of Divi, explaining how to purchase it, install it, and activate the Divi license. I also demonstrated how to build a web page using the Divi platform.
Following the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, and we engaged in a live discussion.
The meetup lasted for one and a half hours.
Yasss, Divi Nairobi! Congrats on your first Divi meetup! 😻

From the Hosts, Mickey, Patty, & Seema:
Divi NYC had its first-ever hybrid Meetup on April 17. The topic was a presentation by Marc Silverman titled “Website Hosting – The Ins, The Outs, and The Alsos.” Marc’s presentation covered his experience running a web hosting business on two popular web hosting services, along with many of the issues that he’s experienced over his years providing these services, including some of the crucial “background” tasks to keep a website up to date, protected from malware, and operating speedily. Marc’s talk was well received and generated a lot of questions and discussion.
