I bought the eStore theme more as an experiment than to actually build a full blown storefront. After discovering all of the incredible features packed into this awesome theme, I got serious and went into customization mode.

Leveraging the eStore PayPal shopping cart integration framework, I decided I could customize a PayPal shopping cart widget to incorporate an Amazon shopping cart. By using the Amazon product advertising API, I was able to create a shopping cart where the buyer could add products to the shopping cart while still remaining on my site. Once they are finished shopping, they check out on Amazon.

While there are many Amazon based storefronts out there, very very few actually incorporate a way to keep customers on your site. They simply offer links to products on the Amazon site. Once a visitor clicks on a product link, they go to Amazon and don't usually come back to your site. Why should they?

With the eStore theme design, I was able to create a REAL storefront, one that actually gives a reason for the visitor to not only buy a product but to also come back. I incorporated a blog where I post about products and give advice. I also added a widgetized footer and several other enhancements.

The site is doing well and my shoppers sometimes comment about how nice the website design looks. I definitely have to agree. Without the eStore theme, I never would have taken the direction I have with developing storefronts.

I have a simular store i am building with etheme but for a totally different product and for the uk market.

Could you point me in the correct direction on how to configure the checkout with api and amazon?

Hi, you have done an awesome job of setting up your Amazon store. I am trying to set up an Amazon store and I'm feeling a bit over whelmed at this point. I was wondering if you can give me some pointers or maybe you can make a video on how to set it up. I know it's a bit much to ask so I'll understand if you decline. Thanks for any help you can give.

Anyone else have a clue on how to do the same thing? I need to do this myself and can't seem to figure it out!

I am not using the same template but what I need to do is simply add a "Add to Cart" link and a "view cart & checkout" link as well!

I really like your website, and was actually trying to create something similar to your widgetized footer. Is this a custom setup you created? if so, would you mind sharing how you created it?

I have built other sites with amazon store software by others but they will never look that good - software is not flexible enough.
