To me it was no surprise that Business CMS received the most votes. Despite some complaints that we already have too many CMS-style designs, it’s obvious from our internal stats that these themes are in demand and continually receive the most downloads. That being said, we have always striven to provide a mix of niche and general purpose themes. In recent history we have produced such themes as InReview, MyCuisine, Anticipate and Event, all of which serve a specific purpose and offer a unique set of tools. We will continue this pattern going forward. When considering which niche themes to make next, the poll offered some interesting insights and we will certainly be exploring these ideas. Things like Mobile and Facebook Fanpage themes strike me as particularly interesting. There are also many hidden gems in the 200+ suggestions that you gave in the comments! I hope our customers realize that it’s impossible to make everyone happy with each theme release, but we still try! We strive towards creating an overall collection that is diverse while at the same time not too narrowly focused that it scares off the broader audience.

Anticipate Features

1. Intuitive Plugins Options – Anticipate comes with an easy to use options page that allows to you configure the plugin in minutes.

2. Progress Bar and Coutndown - Anticipate comes with an animated countdown and progress bar, helping you to build hype about your upcoming release before its even ready. Simply define a completion date from within the plugin options page, and Anticipate does the rest!

3. Email Collection Form – The plugins includes an email subscribe form that allows interested visitors to add their email address to an interest list. These emails are stored in the database, and can be exported from within the options page. These emails can therefore be easily added to any third-party mailing list program.

4. jQuery Slider – The slider allows you to add a few short blurbs to the page to tell your visitors what you are all about. While I chose to use some short blurbs in the demo, there is no limited to how much content can be added to each slide.

TheSource Features Overview

1. Four Unique Colorschemes - If you don’t like the standard Dark color of TheSource, then you may enjoy the alternate/lighter Grey, Blue and Red versions.

2. Three-column Layout – TheSource features a three-column layout, which gives you plenty of room to manage your sidebar widgets.

3. Widgetized Footer – The footer of TheSource has been widgetized and separated into 4 columns, giving you plenty of widget-ready room for all of your favorite plugins.

4. Homepage Category Boxes – These four boxes feature the latest posts from your favorite categories on the homepage.

Looking to the Future

In the near future, along with creating great new themes, I will be focusing on improving theme functionality through the addition of Custom Shortcodes and Page Templates. What’s Next?

As I mentioned above, eNews is already under construction and should be released fairly soon. I think it’s turning out great so far, and I am excited to continue working on it. Yuriy from the forums has been assisting me in the coding process to speed things up, and with two minds at work I am sure it will turn out great.
